Australian winger Mathew Leckie is rumoured to be on the radar of English Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

According to reports from West London Sport, the 25-year-old has garnered the interest of QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who is on the lookout for an attacker with pace and creativity following the recent departure of key figure Matt Phillips to West Bromwich Albion.

A large void will be left in the QPR setup, which the manager apparently feels that other new signings Jake Bidwell, Joel Lynch and Ariel Borysiuk cannot adequately fill. With around £6 million made from the Phillips deal, some are saying that Hasselbaink could make a move for the Bundesliga speedster in the coming days.

The Socceroos playmaker has 64 appearances for Ingolstadt over two seasons with a return of 10 goals, having also spent time at the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach and FSV Frankfurt since leaving Adelaide United in 2011. His silky touch when moving forward on the wing has also made him a Socceroos fan favourite, turning him into a vital cog of Ange Postecoglou’s setup.
