Pep Guardiola’s search for a ‘sweeper keeper’ looks over, with FC Barcelona goalkeeper and soon-to-be Manchester City signing Claudio Bravo spotted at Manchester Airport.

He is expected to sign for Guardiola’s City imminently and will likely step in as the club’s no.1 gloveman in a move reported to be worth as much as £17 million.

The transfer has been in the works for some time, with Barcelona already announcing a deal had been agreed in principle.

“I cannot deny what everyone knows, Barcelona was the first – one week or 10 days ago – who announced the contact with Manchester City,” Guardiola told a press conference.

As a consequence, Joe Hart looks set for the exit door, widely touted for a loan move with Everton strongly linked.

Prior to signing with the Catalan giants, Bravo made 229 appearances for fellow La Liga side Real Sociedad in eight seasons with the club between 2006 and 2014.

He is a seasoned international veteran, with 106 caps for Chile already under his belt.
