Brisbane Roar have downed Perth Glory 4-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney on Tuesday.

A Brandon Borello strike as well as a Josh Risdon own goal saw Roar head into half-time with a 2-0 advantage before doubling their lead after the resumption of play to secure a big win.

Goals from Dimi Petratos and Thomas Broich rounded out the scoring with two well taken goals.

“We were positive going forward when we had the ball and defensively we kept our shape really well,” Aloisi said.

“We’ve got competition for places which is what we want and what we really need if we want to compete.”

The result is a turnaround from the last time these sides met, with Perth downing Brisbane on that occasion 2-o in the FFA Cup at Ballymore.

The friendly was Brisbane’s final preseason meeting before A-League opposition before they open the new campaign against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium on 7 October.
