It’s week 8 of GOTW, and honestly at this point we may as well rename the segment to Volley of the Week. This cracker if brought to you by xIm_Behind_Youx, who pulls off an absolute worldie in Ultimate Team.
From the corner kick, Martin Montoya floats it into the middle. The aerial prowess of Felipe Santana gets him above his man, but fails to make clean contact on the header. The ball is tipped on behind as a result, and bounces kindly for Lacazette outside the box.
He flicks it up, takes it on the rise and blasts it into the top left corner! Gee whiz, what a strike. The French striker must have been taking lessons from his compatriot Paul Pogba with that effort.
The technique in this goal is nothing short of extraordinary. The control for the first-time flick, straight into a volley at the ball’s highest point, rocketing past the keeper.
Look no further if you want an aesthetically pleasing goal. This is pure magic.
