Dutch winger Arjen Robben has played down concerns that he has re-injured his abductor muscle, saying he will be available for Bayern Munich’s midweek Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid.

The fears were raised during the first-half as Robben warmed up, where he was seen to return to the bench in some discomfort.

But despite that, Robben has played down his decision to return to Bayern’s bench.

“I felt a nerve during the warm-up and I was taking no chances,” Robben said following the match.

“It’s nothing bad, it was just a precaution. One must not forget that I am only just coming back having been out for a long time through injury.”

It is not the first time this season the injury has been a concern, after the 32-year-old was sidelined for six weeks with the same injury last campaign, limiting him to just 15 league appearances.

Bayern won the match against Hamburg 1-0, thanks to a late effort from young utility Joshua Kimmich, after smart wing play from French veteran Franck Ribery.
