Stats released by our friends at Opta-powered fantasy football game www.oulala.com have revealed that Manchester City have been the Premier League’s most entertaining team this season.

However, while the Sky Blues can still consider themselves the reining champions for the next few days at least, there is no hope of finishing the 2014/15 with anything to add to the trophy cabinet.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have had the most shots in the Premier League (595) at a rate of 17.5 per game, ahead of Liverpool (519) and Arsenal (508). This has resulted in City also scoring the most goals this term (70) at a rate of 2.06 goals per 90 minutes. Chelsea are the second highest scorers (68) with Arsenal in third (63).

Striker Sergio Agüero is currently the Premier League’s top goal scorer with 21 goals. The Argentine has also taken the most shots of any player in the league this season (128).

The Sky Blues also lead with the most successful passes (16,831) in the Premier League, over Manchester United (15,806) and Chelsea (14,477). Midfielder Yaya Toure has been City’s best passer this season with 1,978 successful passes in total, only second to Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas overall.

Another area City outdo the competition is key passes – with a total of 425 this term. Chelsea have managed 362, while Liverpool have made 357. The talismanic David Silva has made the most key passes (74) in the City side this season, and is again second in the Premier League to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

City have also edged successful take-ons with an impressive 70% success rate, compared to West Brom (62%) and Arsenal (61%).

Again Agüero leads his teammates after successfully completing 70 take-ons this season, however, that is only enough for ninth place overall in the Premier League.

Manchester City are playing beautiful football without winning a trophy…Arsene Wenger would be proud.
