Adelaide United
Eugene Galekovic – 7: Made some crucial saves and let his experience show through, steadying the Adelaide defence in times of need.
Michael Marrone – 7.5: Was a rock in defence until his unfortunate substitution which owed to a potential achilles injury.
Dylan McGowan – 6.5: Did nothing major of note but worked hard in the back line to ensure an Adelaide win.
Iacopo La Rocca – 8: Was the heart of the United defence, helped to ensure Western Sydney only scored the one goal with several crucial stops.
Craig Goodwin – 6.5: His shooting was a little too rough to excuse him entirely, but his defensive work was fantastic.
Isaias – 9.5: Was easily the star of the show, with his amazing free kick the cherry on top of the fantastic match he played for Adelaide.
Stefan Mauk – 5: Made a few too many mistakes in the midfield to truly shine, but his errors went mostly uncapitalised.
Marcelo Carrusca – 8.5: With a great assist and several devastating passes, Carrusca was a star of Adelaide’s midfield and played very well until his 85th-minute substitution.
Bruce Kamau – 8: The youngster was on point during the match, with an early goal and crucial play in the front third to pick up the slack left by Djite.
Sergio Cirio – 5.5: Did some crucial runs but lost the ball going forward more often than not.
Bruce Djite – 5: The star striker failed to shine, never really getting into gear. While he did warm up in the second half, it was a little too late.
Substitutes
Tarek Elrich – 5: Failed to make a major impact coming on for Marrone, but helped to hold Western Sydney up in the final 15 minutes.
Pablo Sanchez – 7.5: The super sub lived up to his reputation yet again, netting a last minute goal to secure the win for United.
George Mells – 5: Came on too late to make any impact as the game was already over for Adelaide.
